Dancing for Fitness

Participate in dance studio classes. Develop an understanding of the relationship between dance, physical fitness, and education and/or career goals.

Student activities

  1. Take dance classes at a studio at least three times a week.
  2. Keep a daily or weekly journal.
  3. Apply knowledge of movement concepts to maintain vigorous heart rate.
  4. Analyze relationship of workout plan to educational and career goals.
  5. Request and present final instructor evaluation.

Assessment

Student participates in a portfolio review that includes a dance activity log and reflective journal, and presents his/her instructor’s final evaluation.
