Dancing for Fitness

Participate in dance studio classes. Develop an understanding of the relationship between dance, physical fitness, and education and/or career goals.

Student activities

  • Take dance classes at a studio at least three times a week.
  • Keep a daily or weekly journal.
  • Apply knowledge of movement concepts to maintain vigorous heart rate.
  • Analyze relationship of workout plan to educational and career goals.
  • Request and present final instructor evaluation.

Assessment

Student participates in a portfolio review that includes a dance activity log and reflective journal, and presents his/her instructor’s final evaluation.
